Announcements:

  1. Clubs are required to provide their own First Aid Kits. All Clubs are to ensure that their swimmers adhere to safety whilst at the competition venue.
  2. The pool will be opened from 0800hrs. To avoid congestion in the pool and to allow clubs quality warm-up time, clubs are asked to follow warm-up lanes instructions.
  3. Manager’s meeting: 9:15am
  4. Technical officials briefing: 9:30am
  5. Each Club is required to provide 3 volunteers. A list of volunteers should be submitted with Entry Form or via email or Officials Fees – Option for clubs to pay rather than put in officials for timekeeping duties during competition. $50/timekeeper per day.
  6. Electronic entries only will be accepted.
  7. Entries for LC Grand Prix Series must be submitted no later than 6.00pm on;
    • 23rd January 2026 Meet # 1: Events 1-12
    • 13th February 2026 Meet # 2: Events 13-23
    • 6th March 2026 Meet # 3: Events 24-34
  8. Entries received after these dates will not be accepted.
  9. Entries should be submitted to admin@fijiaquatics.com, and copied to tiacheer@yahoo.com
  10. Cost per event is $10.00. Payments can be deposited into; “Amateur Association of Fiji Swimming”, Westpac Banking Corp, Suva, Account # 41752500 by Clubs and not individuals.
    • Any outstanding fines or fees left unpaid after competition is complete will incur an additional fee of $100 per week per club this is left outstanding.
  11. Club Managers must ensure all their swimmers hold current registration with Fiji Swimming – registration and payment or registration fee to be completed no later than 7 days prior to entries closing to allow registration number to be issued. Entries for swimmers without a valid Fiji Swimming registration number will not be accepted.
  12. Psych sheets will be posted on the Fiji Swimming web page, 3 working days before the start of the competition for verification. No changes will be accepted but corrections can be done if the error is on our part. Amendments to the program may be necessary depending on the number of entries received for each event.

Local Competition Rules of the day:

  1. Swimmers are not permitted to swim in place of another swimmer. To do so will result in automatic disqualification of both swimmers from the competition.
  2. A maximum of 6 events per swimmer per Grand Prix.
  3. Events will be swum as MIXED OPEN events, with athletes seeded to ensure they swim the best possible time. It is in your swimmer’s interests to submit an entry time.
  4. Withdrawals will be accepted from the Team Manager at the Manager’s meeting on the day of competition, if it is signed by the Team Manager and accompanied by a medical certificate or if due to sudden illness at the referee’s discretion.
    • Scratches / No Shows and Withdrawals without a medical certificate will incur a fee of $30 per event.
    • Once a swimmer SCRATCHES / NO SHOWS for an event he/she will NOT be allowed to swim their remaining events on the day unless their fine of $30.00 have been paid to Fiji Swimming and proof of payment shown to the Meet Manager.
  5. It is recommended that ALL swimmers wear a swimming cap. Swimwear for men shall not extend above the navel nor below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials (BL 8.3) Double swimwear or inappropriate swim attire will result in disqualification.
  6. In the case of any disputes, World Aquatics rules will apply.
  7. Club Managers only are permitted in the control room and are to be relied upon for all communication to/from clubs.
  8. Entries fees must be settled in full, by the entry deadline or club’s entries will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of club managers to ensure fees are settled within the timeframe. Entries without entry times will not be accepted, the exception being first-time swimmers in a particular event. Please ensure all swimmers’ details are included including DOB, entry time, Fiji Swimming registration number.
  9. This is a self marshalled meet; Team Managers ensure your Club Swimmers are to be at the correct starting blocks 2 heats prior to their event.
  10. No Short Course conversions.
  11. Awards will only be awarded to swimmers placed first & second at the awards night at the end of the year as per the scoring (below page).
  12. Age is determined as of 30th June 2026.
  13. All overseas swimmers/visitors competing in Fiji will need to forward a clearance letter from their Federation in their country for their participation at our local competitions one month prior to our competitions.

World Aquatics rules will apply throughout the series

  1. Protests must be lodged to the Meet Director in writing within 30mins following the conclusion of the respective event. Protests must be accompanied by a $150.00 non-refundable fee. A Jury of Appeal will be responsible for attending to rejections of protests.

A special request to all clubs;

  • Please be respectful and courteous to the volunteers on the day of competition
  • Please ensure that all the swimmers and clubs are informed of the rules.

All protests must be relayed through their team managers to the Meet Director or Referee of the day and no parents or coaches are allowed to disturb the officials.

Scoring

Each meet will be scored using World Aquatics points scoring and be accumulated at the end of each meet however the award scoring will be points accumulated over the three series in the following categories and events. (Highest points gained in any event below will be used for the award scoring)

8 years old & Under

  • 1 100m freestyle
  • 1 50m back or breast,
  • 1 100m back or breast

9-10 years old

  • 1 100m freestyle
  • 1 50m back, breast or fly
  • 1 100m back, breast or fly

11-12 years old

  • 1 400m or 200m freestyle
  • 1 200m medley
  • 1 50 or 100m back, breast, fly
  • 1 200m back, breast, fly

13-14 years old

  • 1 400m or 800m freestyle
  • 1 200m or 400m medley
  • 1 50m or 100m back, breast, fly
  • 1 200m back, breast, fly

15-16 & 17+ years old & Over

  • 1 800m or 1500m freestyle
  • 1 200m or 400m medley
  • 1 50m or 100m back, breast, fly
  • 1 200m back, breast, fly

Please note that a Swimmer has to participate in all three Long Course Grand Prix’s & required events to be eligible for the end of the year Fiji Swimming Grand Prix rankings or awards.
