2025 Short Course Age Group Nationals

NOTE: 

  1. Qualifying period will be 1st July 2025 to 24th October 2025 
  2. There are no restrictions to number of individual events a swimmer is allowed to be entered in. Swimmers may swim up in Relays provided a Relay Team member swimming that Relay is of that Age Group.You cannot swim in a MIXED Relay if you swim in the same relay in your respective genders. Only 1 Relay team per Relay Event per Age category. 
  3. Competition Format is straight Finals.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

  1. Clubs are required to provide their own First Aid Kits. 
  2. The pool will be opened from 0700hrs. To avoid congestion in the pool and to allow clubs minimum quality warm-up time, please use the assigned lanes to you. 
  3. A swimmer can swim up to another age group for relays, provided a Team member for that relay is of that age group but will not be allowed to swim in more than one age group. An individual that swims in the male or female event cannot swim in the same mixed event. A mixed team should consist of two males and two females. 
  4. Manager’s meeting: 08.30am 
  5. Technical officials briefing: 08.45am 
  6. Each Club is required to provide 2 volunteers each day. A list of volunteers should be submitted with Entry Form. 
  7. Electronic entries will only be accepted. 
  8. Entries for Short Course Age Group National Championship 2024 must be submitted no later than 6.00pm on Friday 17th October 2025. No late Entries will be accepted.

  10. Cost per event is $10.00. Cost per relay team is $20.00. Payments can be deposited into; “Amateur Association of Fiji Swimming”, Westpac Banking Corp, Suva – Account # 41752500 
  11. Club Managers must ensure all their swimmers hold current registration with Fiji Swimming 
  12. Psych sheets will be posted up on the website, 3 working days before the start of the competition for verification. No changes will be accepted but correction will be done if the error is ours. However, amendments to the program may be necessary depending on the number of entries received for each event. Races may be combined at the discretion of the session referee or recorder. 

LOCAL COMPETITION RULES OF THE DAY: 

  1. Swimmers are not permitted to swim in place of another swimmer. To do so will result in automatic disqualification of both swimmers from the competition. 
  2. There are, no restricted number of individual events per swimmer. 
  3. Swimmers are to swim as per their Age Group in Individual Events 
  4. Withdrawals will be accepted from the Team Manager at the Manager’s meeting on the first day of competition. Other withdrawals are accepted on a daily basis as long as it is signed by the Team Manager and accompanied by a medical certificate or if due to sudden illness at the referee’s discretion. 
  5. Withdrawals without a medical certificate will incur a fee of $20.00 per event. 
  6. Once a swimmer SCRATCHES / NO SHOWS for an event he/she will NOT be allowed to swim for the remainder of the events for that day and will incur a fine of $20.00 per event. 
  7. Withdrawal, Scratch/No Show fines must be paid by the start of the next day’s competition, swimmers will not be allowed to swim their remaining events unless fees have been paid to Fiji Swimming and a copy of receipt presented at the Team Managers Meeting. 
  8. It is recommended that ALL swimmers wear a swimming cap. Swimwear is limited to one swimsuit (Double Swimsuits or inappropriate clothing will result in disqualification) 
  9. In the case of any disputes, FINA rules will apply. 
  10. Club Managers are NOT permitted in the control room and are to be relied upon for all communication to/from clubs with the Technical Director. 
  11. Entry fees must be settled in full, by the entry deadline or club’s entries will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of club managers to ensure fees are settled within the timeframe. Entries without entry times will not be accepted. Please ensure all swimmers’ details are included including DOB, entry time, Fiji Swimming registration number. 
  12. Swimmers are required to report to the starting blocks at least 2 races in advance of their event. 
  13. Swimmers who fail to achieve the QT during the competition will incur a $30.00 fine for every event unachieved. 
  14. QT’s from Short Course competitions from 1st July 2025 will be accepted. No Long Course conversions times will be accepted. 
  15. Fiji Swimming reserves the right to invite international competitors. Where international competitors are placed for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed Fiji swimmers will also be placed. 
  16. Age is determined as at 2 November 2025. 

In case of a dispute World Aquatics Rules will apply.
